Since I posted about the Hello Kitty recipe book last time, I thought I’d share a bit more of my Hello Kitty obsession. I am hoping to expand this blog into kitty-themed baking/craft adventures soon so this gives you an idea of the type of things I love. Which is anything cute, basically! Especially cute food.
I have been to Singapore a few times now, and there are a lot of cute restaurants, cat cafes and even a cat museum which I have got to write about at some point. On one occasion, there was a collaboration between the cafe chain Swensens and Hello Kitty. T’was only for a short time so it was lucky my trip coincided with the promotion.
It’s an American style restaurant (it’s actually an American company, so I’ve discovered) that mostly serves ice cream. Ice cream cake, ice cream parfaits, ice cream and waffles…yum! Since I was with my husband, we were able to try a dessert each. There were four Hello Kitty themed options in total but two of them were boring parfaits so we chose the ice cream cake and waffle to share.
My ice cream cake was supposed to be red velvet but it was pretty frozen so you could hardly taste it. The ice cream with the waffle was rose flavored – very fancy! The price was a bit steep I suppose. It was $29SGD in total for both desserts. That’s pretty normal compared with prices here in Australia though. And the portions were quite generous.
My hubby was awesome and took some lovely photos of the food for my blog before we devoured everything. I really appreciate his patience in coming to these types of places with me. It was all very pink and girly but I think everyone can enjoy a good dessert. You can see his photos in the gallery below:
